Camera Profiles and DNG Profile Editor

Over at Adobe Labs, they have posted their latest version of their new color rendering package. This includes the following updates:

From Adobe Labs:

  1. The DNG 1.2 specification, which expands and formalizes the concept of a color profile for raw (i.e., scene-referred) image data captured by digital sensors,
  2. Adobe Standard camera profiles that significantly improve color rendering, especially in reds, yellows, and oranges,
  3. Camera Matching profiles that match the camera manufacturers’ color appearance,
  4. DNG Profile Editor, a free software utility for editing camera profiles, and
  5. This web page, designed to help photographers get the most out of the new camera profiles and the DNG Profile Editor.

In a nutshell, this is a way to improve color rendering for digital raw photographs.
